Description: ***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - The EB 8800 manual wind movement runs significantly fast, gaining several hours by the end of its approximate 33 hour power reserve period. A complete overhaul is required.***********This vintage 1960/70's Cronel 400 Super diver has under the damaged and discolored crystal a gold "T SWISS MADE T" dial that appears to be in lovely condition. The lume, which no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged deeply. The black bezel, which shows wear and rotates stiffly bidirectionally, presents nicely. The gold chrome-plated case shows honest wear and brassing. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "SWISS MADE WATERPROOF SHOCKRESISTANT STAINLESS STEEL BACK" with "CRONEL" followed by "GUARANTEED,""5 ATM TESTED" and "400" stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped "CRONEL WATCH CO LTD" followed by "SWISS MADE." The crystal needs to be replaced. The 1 jewel unadjusted Swiss "STROUN BROS LTD" stamped EB 8800 manual wind movement with semi-quickset date function runs significantly fast with the date wheel rolling over at 12 am. The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After winding the brassed, non-screwdown crown 17 full revolutions the movement ran several hours fast by the end of its approximate 33 hour power reserve period. The crown winds smoothly. A complete overhaul is required.This watch measures approximately 40 mm excluding the crown, approximately 43 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm.A complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.
