As you may know, gold prices continue to reach all-time highs in 2024, driven by various economic and geopolitical factors. It has led to price increases across the industry since earlier this year. I have always tried to keep my pricing fair and held off on any changes for as long as possible. DESCRIPTION- A hefty, buttery yellow gold band bearing full, crisp English hallmarks for London 1965. This band is modelled in solid 22k gold and has a warm rosy glow. It is very comfortable to wear with a slightly domed exterior and a flat interior. This ring has been refinished to its original shine and has a high-polish finish. It would make a lovely statement piece in your jewelry collection. MARKS- [W.W.LD] [crown] [22] [leopard’s head] [l] - Sponsor/maker’s mark: [W.W.LD] = William Wilkinson Ltd (William Wilkinson & Sons/William Wilkinson Ltd has been in operation since 1860 to the present) - Traditional fineness mark: [crown] [22] = 22k gold - Assay Office mark: [leopard’s head] = London - Date letter for the year: [l] = 1965 (58 years old in 2023) INSCRIPTION- n/a MEASUREMENTS- Ring size: Approx. 7 US standard (Note: A wider band/ring tends to fit more snugly when compared to a thinner band. This ring fits closer to a 6.5 - 6.75 US standard. The ring is resizable but the patina will be lost during the resizing process)- Width: Approx. 6.8 mm- Depth: Approx. 2.0 mm- Weight: Approx. 10.6 grams CONDITION - Overall, the ring is in beautiful vintage condition but bears signs of wear commensurate with age. Metal surfaces have marks and scratches that one would expect in a piece of this age. These ‘imperfections’ add character to the piece rather than take away from it- There is a very faint mark from a previous resizing (it’s located directly across from the hallmarks).
