The stone is faceted, not too dark, and in a golden "cage" with a bail. I do not believe the cage is real gold, but the 16" chain is marked as gold filled. The stone is a nice size and it has some sparkle, which is sometimes hard to get in a darker stone. It would make a nice gift or a wearable treat for yourself.
