Description: Two beautiful antique middle eastern handmade hanging brass plates. Plates feature Islamic Arabic calligraphy inlayed on circular tray, about 10 inches in diameter. Round (probably Egyptian) made from brass and overlaid with silver and copper. I estimate these plates were hand-crafted sometime between the 1940s-1960s. This brass tray is made by hand. Hammered and hand chased. Both plates have an attached hanger on the back to easily hang on the wall (see photos). Highly collectible plates and wonderful craftsmanship. Both in good vintage condition, some slight tarnish and wear. These plates could be polished or cleaned. I have not cleaned them in order to preserve their vintage patina.
