Vintage Paperback The Brave Cowboy by Edward Abbey! Highly Collectible! 1957!

Description: My next six listings will be vintage paperbacksand some highly collectible such as this listing. As collectors of vintage paperbacks know and understand, these editions were primarily published with the intent of being read and then essentially tossed out. And the paper used and the glue for the binding was not always the best so these copies really didn’t last long. Now they are highly sought after as essentially artifacts with incredible artwork and designs. While I was photographing this copy I was extremely careful in its handling. Most of the titles I’ll be listing ( and there are around a hundred or so ) range in age from fifty to seventy years old. They are usually never taken out of their archival protectors and are truly treated as treasure. This title is no exception. This is an early printing published in the same year as its first printing only two months apart. This is Edward Abbey’s second published book The Brave Cowboy after his first Jonathan Troy. The copy has the front advertisement for Time Magazine and the rear advertisement is for a Zane Grey set of books. The perforation on the rear advertisement is fully intact. The Time-Life- Sports Illustrated one have been used. And the very last page of text which is only one sided has pulled away from the binding but is present. The wonderful cover painting is by Roy Gifford. I absolutely love vintage paperbacks and an early Abbey title in an early .25 cent copy is a treasure.
