Description: This is an original very rare vintage sewing pattern for a lovely 1920s dress by The Ladies' Home Journal Pattern Company. The pattern includes a charming instruction sheet with advertisements for other sewing patterns printed on the back side. These patterns are especially rare because they were printed for just a brief period in 1927-1928. McCall's still held the patent for the only printed patterns in the market so it is very plausible that shortly after these started production, they were threatened with legal action and gave up the line. These also seem to be (from my research) the very FIRST multi-size printed patterns, printed in multiple sizes all on one sheet much as modern patterns are.Year: Circa 1927.Size: 34-36-38" Bust.Condition: The envelope is quite worn at the edges and has several small tears. The pattern is uncut and has never been used, though it has been unfolded for study. The pattern itself is excellent, crisp, and strong. It is complete with some light wear at fold lines.Interestingly, instead of offering a separate instruction sheet, the instructions were printed on the individual pattern pieces themselves.
