Description: Beautiful miniature tin ex voto (Latin; short for “ex voto suscepto” or “from the vow made”) or milagro (Spanish; “miracle” or “surprise”) in the form of a heart reminiscent of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Ex-votos are carried as devotional objects and to give thanks for granted prayers and intentions. They are a votive offering to Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, or a saint, given in fulfillment of a vow or in gratitude or devotion. The ex voto measures approximately 1 1/4" wide x 1 1/2" high. The age of the ex voto is unknown, but it appears to be vintage. The ex voto appears to be handmade and may be from Mexico. Estate sale find. This miniature ex voto is a beautiful and inspiring Catholic devotional and piece of folk art! The ex voto appears to be in good used condition with signs of wear and age, such as scratches, scrapes, abrasions, nicks, indentations, pits, discoloration, and oxidation.
