Description: Item Description: This vintage Navajo sterling silver watchband has inlaid 14K gold at the center of each section which creates an attractive center of a sunray design. The watchband with watch measures 7 5/8" long. The tubes for the watch pins are 3/8" long. The watchband is signed with the artist's L hallmark and marked sterling and 14 Karat . The watch weighs 42 grams. The "Watch It" watch needs a battery to operate and I haven't tested it to see if it's working. The watch band has silver patina from age and would polish up beautifully if you wished. It's in great vintage condition. Throughout the 40 years that I have been in business, I have purchased jewelry from pawn shops throughout the Southwest that had collections of dead pawn. Most of these pawn shops and trading posts are now closed. The Native American would pawn his jewelry for immediate cash. The shop would hold it and charge interest until he could reclaim it. Dead pawn are the pieces that were never retrieved. Old Pawn Jewelry typically dates from the early 1900s to the 1970s. Also, the turquoise in old pawn is turquoise that you can't get anymore because many of the mines have closed.
