Description: This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. There are a few small bubbles in the paint. There are other small scratches, nicks and spots of paint loss throughout this brass model. The wheels & pickups show wear and tarnish from previous use. This item has been inspected by our repair shop. Please see the attached picture for inspection details and additional operation information. The engine has been modified by the previous owner. A QSI DCRU is installed in the tender. The sound boards for the DCRU are preventing the engine from running properly. These have been removed and put in the packaging. The locomotive features flywheel coasting, smoke unit, electronic reverse, fireman and engineer figures, headlight and operating marker lights. The tender has real coal, a back up light and a doghouse for the brakeman. Drawing its roots from South Africa and first introduced in the early 19th century, the 4-8-2 or also commonly referred to as the "Mountain" type made waves when it first hit rail-ways thanks to a re-designed truck system that granted these powerful locomotives excellent stability when traversing at high speeds with passenger cars. Their practicality and reliability would not go unnoticed and the 4-8-2 quickly founds itself commissioned to rail-yards across the world. The 4-8-2 has since moved on from rail-yards and now several models can be found in various museums throughout the United States.
