Description: This fossil trilobite- Cornuproetus cornutus, is from the Middle Devonian, 390 million years ago, in Morocco. It is a relatively small trilobite, not growing much bigger than 1-2 inches at most. This trilobite measures 1.0 inches long and 0.9 inches wide (genal spine to genal spine). The grayish/brown matrix and trilobite, measures 2.88 inches by 2.65 inches by 2.0 inches. Holochroal eye lenses are present in both eyes. The matrix has been removed from under the genal spines and cephalon, which gived the appearance that the trilobite is 'flying'.There is a repair through the tip of the cephalon. In the trilobite- collecting world this is not a detriment. Trilobites are found by smashing open rocks- and the specimen often gets broken as a result. It is rare to find an entire, unbroken trilobite. And if one is found, they usually are sold for a premium amount. Many sellers do not disclose that their fossils have been repaired as the repair is often very well done, and virtually undetectable. I believe in full disclosure. All of my specimens are guaranteed authentic and have been legally obtained. When mailing out this item, the fossil will be placed in a plastic container, which is securely fastened down with a screw. The container will be wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a crushproof box.Track Page Views With Auctiva's FREE Counter Track Page Views With Auctiva's FREE Counter
