Description: This, I believe is a first edition lithograph, after a woodcut by Sir William Nicholson 1872-1949, a British painter, wood engraver and lithographer. It’s from the “Twelve Portraits”portfolio, published by William Heinemann, London in 1899. The lithograph is of British politician W. E. Gladstone 1809- 1898, measuring 10.25”x 9 5/8” in very good condition.It looks to be in the original black wood frame, with wood backing and cut nails. I will be listing a total of four from the “Twelve Portraits” portfolio.
