WOW!! Aldo Londi Bitossi Italy Early 1960s Horse MCM, Rimini Blue, Heavy 4.47 lb

Description: The holidays are approaching and this will be a TREAT for someone to own this fresh to the market piece that I just acquired! Why? THIS IS AN EARLY (Early 1960s) AND ESPECIALLY HEAVY VERSION OF THE SMALLER SIZE OF BITOSSI HORSES. Weighs 4.47 lb whereas the later cast versions of this size horse weigh about 2.76lb (1.25kg). Offered for sale is a vintage Italian figurine crafted by Aldo Londi Bitossi, this mid-century modern piece features a horse in a gorgeous Rimini Blue color. This is the small version of Bitossi's 3 sizes of horses (length 10.25"; 26-27cm). The figurine stands 10.75" inches. HEAVY 4.47 lb (2.027kg). Width is 4 1/8”. Not marked (sticker must have been lost) but there's no mistake that this is early 1960s Bitossi. IMPORTANT: Here is some important info on why you should own this heavy first version of the Bitossi horse! (Ref Guido Bitossi): These first horses were made in the early 1960s and were especially heavy as they were manufactured by 'hand pressing' in a mold. These had a large hole in the belly as an option to transform the horse into a lamp base to allow to screw via lamp tools. There were no hoof holes due to the hand pressing into a mold. Later, all of the 3 sizes of horses were manufactured by 'casting' so there were 4 holes in each one (holes in the hooves). This info can be provided to you but it was referred to by Tove on the Bitossi FB page in the album on mammals where it shows the 3 sizes of horses. This is an impeccable early and heavy example that is beautiful in color and depth of the mold design. Bid as you will be very pleased with it!, as no damages, early first version of this horse.
