Description: **I cant believe I have to add this disclaimer but there is always someone who asks…no, there are no lines on this photo. The lines are to protect copyright. Kramer was sent to Shanghai China under the 6th Marines in 1937 and ended up in Tientsin in 1938-1940 when the Detachment took over the post from the Army. He is shown in the epitome accoutrement of the North "China Marine", the fur hat and cloisonne enameled diamond w/ affixed EGA. North China Marines wore the Chinese-made fur cap in the winter months, and it is extremely rare to see it in up-close detail in a studio shot. Kramer would go on to be a Colonel in the Artillery world and serve in multiple island campaigns during WW2 and also served during the Korean War. Measures 3” x 3-7/8”.
